A Peek into a Mind

Civax Personal Homepage

SMSs I recently got (and my reactions)

Well, I found it’s extremely nice to get SMS from people around the world. I’ve decided I’ll take a picture of each SMS and post it on a special gallery, so I could save them without really having to fill my mobile phone memory. I won’t of course, take picture of really personal emails, but I’ll make an effort to read to all of them even if I won’t save them on the gallery.

It’s really fun getting messages in the middle of the day, specially when they say nice things… I must admit there were a couple of others which I erased by mistake before managed to capture or document. Anyway, if you got something to tell me ANY TIME, and you can put it in 108 characters, send me an SMS now!

Anyway, here are the msgs I got (and some reactions from me):

06/03/2003 22:18 : Udi: “Hi Civax! Ma Kore? Can you share details about the plans you made about the race? sure sounds great!!”
I’m afriad many things are still in concept work and there is nothing concrete I can share right now. I can’t even tell what are the chances of working this thing out, so no point just talking in the air. If things will go well I promise to let you all know it…

06/03/2003 19:21 : Tony, Selma, AL: “Nice web page. Good luck with the job hunt. Here’s hoping the intifada ends soon.”
Cheers, Tony. About the intifada ending soon - I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you. I don’t expect terror attacks stopping in the coming years. Then again, it’s the middle east here. We expect the unexpected. :)

06/03/2003 01:04 : Udi, israel: “do u know of any “the race” fan websites, beside yours?”
Sorry, Udi, no. Apperantly, from talks I had with friends in the UK, most people there had never seen the show and not that much even have ITV2 at home… I’m not aware of ANYONE else that had posted a page on the show. And I’ve looked a lot!

05/03/2003 20:28 : Kevin in WasDC: “so sorry to hear about recent terrorist attacks, be safe”
Thanks Kev, I’m doing my best to keep safe, but you know, we gotta keep on living our lives…

05/03/2003 18:11 : 1497078: “hi i’m lemmer i’m srching some people for my nw gme can you plz hlp me?”
I’m guessing you want to say you’re looking for people to work with you on a new game development. Well, for these kind of things please email me.

05/03/2003 07:00 : Anonymous: “Hi from America. I like your website”
Cheers mate! :)

26/02/2003 16:06 : Kevin in WashDC: “Enjoy the snow !!”
Enjoying, enjoying… Took me an hour and a half to dig a path for my car out of the parking lot ot the main road… :)

26/02/2003 24:38 : Lenka: “4 your aunt: Dear Ester! I wish you from all my heart to be back home soon and to enjoy spring! Bye!”
Ho.. She was very happy to get the SMS… But I already emailed you about it, didn’t I? :)

26/02/2003 23:48 : Lenka: “Hi! I’ve just discovered your website-cool!!!”
Thanks Lenka!

25/02/2003 10:42 : Shmuly: “Hi I’m from holland I wanna see the snow!!!”
I REALLY wanted to take photographs of the snow, but I had no camera with me! AGRHH!!!

24/02/2003 16:21 : Kevin in Wash DC: “Get well soon Aunt Ester!! Our prayers are with you”
Cheers kevin!!! My aunt was very happy to get the ‘Get Well’ SMSs! She was quite disappointed when I told her I have no way of replaying…

20/02/2003 12:31 : Nataly: “I went to betzefer myself today. and for the same course as u. can you tell me more?”
Well, I haven’t got an answer if I was accepted or not, yet, so I can’t tell you anything more so far… (btw, she’s referring to this post).

18/02/2003 24:52 : Onur Gunduz: “I’m from turkey and I wanna just say congratilation. Take care and god bless you.”
God Bless you too, Onur!

17/02/2003 04:03 : Dan Johansson: “Shalom from Sweden. Nice page”
Tak! Hur e laget? (that’s pretty much summs up my swedish. That and ‘Var e museet?’)

16/02/2003 13:09 : Vilmantas: “Hi! Greetings from Lithuania!”
Hey!! I got visitors even from Lithuania!

14/02/2003 16:03 : Eric, Toronto: “Hello, has war started in Iraq. [email]
Has it!? There were no sirens here! And in the TV it still looks like Europeans keep pushing sticks in the wheels of the US! Hmm… Are you suggesting this is a media covering up the war already begun??? ;)

14/02/2003 03:48 : Dan: “I am Daniel Hoz and you are thinking is he related to Dov Hoz or Moeshe Sharret. [email]”
Emailed you, Dan.

11/02/2003 19:33 : Scott, Dallas, TX: “Shuttle, INFO Palestine is way north… it exploded over Dallas and landed in eastern Texas”
Wow! I’m also getting live news snaps to my phone now! Thanks Scott! :)

06/02/2003 14:24 : Graham: “fdrgdrjyedryfyrdrdffdfc”
Yes, Graham. it works. I do get these messages. :)

06/02/2003 14:20 : From Belgium: “Cool site! Keep up this good work man!”
Cheers mate! :)

06/02/2003 05:52 : Dima: “hi I would like to know if you would tell me how to put this up on my site Mail: [email address here]”
Well, Dima, I don’t think I can help you here. The script I’m using to enable sms sending to my mobile is based on my cellular provider’s site, which is Israeli. I find hard to believe it will help you in anyway…

06/02/2003 24:29 : michael: “www.hasbara.us”
Ok, Michael, I went to see the site and frankly, I wouldn’y link to it. Done badly, too propoganda-style. It’s not healping your cause, that’s for sure.

06/02/2003 12:12 : shalom: “Hi Civax, I really enjoy your website. Do you use Instant Messanger or some other chat program?”
I do use ICQ every now and then, but only on weekends that I’m at home (and not always then, too). If you want to contact me use my email.

04/02/2003 13:46 : Argentina: “Hi Civax!!! My mom made alya to Beersheva!! Have a nice day!!!!!!”
That’s great! :) If you want me to contact her just drop me the details in the email.

04/02/2003 19:01 : Gediddy03: “high civax, hows things? i’m just sittin here in s.louis mo. usa and thought i’d say hello”
(Already contacted him in the mail)

3/2/2003 19:01 : Poonam: “Hi, u impree me by your personal page mail me on [email given here].”
Well, it would be much better if you’ll just add a comment here, poonam, but none-the-less, since you made a little effort and SMSed me, I’ll return and email you! (You see how nice I am to people who SMS me?)

2/2/2003 8:00 : A curious friend: “I am an American college student. I study US International Relations, want to talk to you”
Well, since you left no email or way to contact you, I guess we can contact over here, using the comments to this post. Of, if you would like a more private way, email me.

30/1/2003 21:49 : from Barcelona: “Hi Civax! That’s from Barcelona. I saw your webcam from earthcam.com. Have a nice day!”
Thanks! Now this kind of SMS can just bright my day sometimes! :)

27/1/2003 18:45 : The Special: “FUCK MP3s… Ever hear of a hex-editor? MAKE CRACK LEGAL!!”
Hmm… Yea, sometimes I get some really WEIRD ones…

(By the way, what do you think about this feature I’ve added? Do you think it’s a cool idea to have people you don’t know send you SMSs, or do you dislike the idea?)

Might like to drink whiskey, might like to drink milk. Might like to eat beans, might like to eat bread.
Maybe sleeping on the floor or sleeping in a kingsize bed. But, you’re going to have to serve somebody. It might be the devil or it might be the Lord, but you’re going to have to serve somebody.

Sitting here stinking and drinking with a woman on my left sipping wine. She has dark skin and assassins eyes, well dressed but missing some teeth. I think I will take another hit and get as far a way from myself as I can. Tried to tell her about this great website but all she had to say was that she was a little red roster.
