HUMILITATION

Today was the poll at the members of the Likud party if to support Ariel Sharon’s disengagement plan.

Out of about 100,000 Likud members, only 40% voted.
Out 40% voted, around 60% were against.

And these idiots think that the fact that 24% of the Likud members, a number close to 24,000 people, will decide on a national plan for 6 million people ?!

Sharon had my vote the past elections. He need to answer to me and to the rest of the people who voted for him and are supportive fore this plan (though I admit I’m not a die-hard supporter). If he’ll let this meaningless loud minority effect the future of the nation then he’ll have my contempt. Sharon is the only reason the Likud is the ruling party now, as many non-Likud people (like me) voted for him.

When I was in favor of certain national moves the majority of the public rejected, I felt pretty bad but accepted. These radical right groups who financed and executed this anti-plan campaign (which are not even Likud voters!) should learn to do the same. Either that or be rooted. Now.

Going to be very interesting to see what happens next. Asking the Israeli public about political issues is pretty stupid as most of us see everything political as one big pile of shit. I’ve seen already 5 elections (almost every 2 years) and I admit myself I only bothered to vote in 2. And only cause I was already near the voting place that day (Well actually the first time I was a soldier and the truck with the box came to us on the fire grounds).

I hate to say it but the Israeli public in he past few years need a real leader. A leader that can look to some (very strong) sectors in the face and give them the finger. A guy that doesn’t react to reality but GUIDE reality. He won’t have an easy life, that’s for sure. As we all know, where there are 2 Jews there are always 3 opinions. But he needs to LEAD for god sake, not FOLLOW.

Sharon was such a guy for some extant. Lets see if he also got the guts.
