| Powell, UN, Germany and France thoughts. |
As I’m writing this, Powell is in the UN, showing evidence that Iraq not only not cooperating with the inspections, but they currently have biological and chemical weapons, then have at least 7 biological weapons factories that are mobile on 18 trucks and that they still hold on to their weapons! The Us already got the support of most Europe, except Germany and France.
If you ask me, this whole circus is just mocking the U.N. This whole crisis situation is highlighting the irrelevance and impotence of the UN. Why Germany is acting so dumb, I can only relate to pacifism. I do have things against pacifism, but on this case I’m willing to let Germany off the hook. If Germany promises not to be involved in any war for the rest of it’s existence it’s all fine with me. The last 2 wars Germany was involved (involved? RESPONSIBLE) ended up with a badly wounded world. I guess they are acting out of guilt, which is fine by me, this guilt is justified.
France, however, just seems to bang it’s head in the wall. I swear, if I didn’t know they were in Europe I’d think it’s another one of our neighboring arab countries. France is so arrogant, relaying on it’s past colonial glory and trying to make muscles as a world power. Damn it, and they even have the amazing nerve to critic Israel (just to remind you all, France crushed the Algeria rebels by massacring (and raping, and plundering) that country. It wasn’t even it’s land. I think we should leave Syria for now, USA should declare the next war should be against the French. Backstabbers.
(If you think I’m overreacting, you might want to read this: Pentagon adviser: France ‘no longer ally’ . I guess the US isn’t so blind…)
Anyway, Just let the war begin and get it over with, this whole thing of keeping us waiting in the air is really getting on everybody’s nerves around here. You want to shoot? Shoot! Don’t talk!
While on that matter, you might want to look at Tim Trevan’s opinion. Tim is a former weapons inspector in Iraq. I guess he knows better then most of us here. you can also have a look at 27 other opinions, including Iraqis and academics.
Ho well. My MIDlet games are almost ready, they just need more testing and adjusting, and I’ll be able to sent them to Austria. Man, Game development is a hard work, even in small projects! At least I’m haveing fun playing Insaniquarium
Additional Thoughts
After watching the actual presentation on TV, must reflect on my feelings. This is way more frightening then I thought. The guy actually got READY TO USE biological and Chemical weapons. Apparently he already have all the technology to create nukes though Powell said he didn’t for the lake of needed materials. I donno if I trust that. What if he have a nuke? And he’ll launch it on us as a last resort? The guy, when retreating from Kuwait, sent fire in all the oil wells, just to leave scorched earth. It wasn’t only about loosing, it was also about not letting anyone enjoy his defeat. Then what if he’ll succeed (I have absolutely no doute he’ll try!) hitting Israeli with a bio/chem weapon?
Man, I hope our Arrow missile is as good as they say it is. And boy, if he’ll shoot unconventional missiles here, man, I say Israel will react. I say nuke the bastard.
Hmm… No, I don’t really think we should nuke Iraq, but I’m certainly against sitting quiet while they arm themselves. I’m in favor of active aggressive defense. The bombing of the Iraqi nuclear reactor was a really wise decision, and we should go back to that sort of stuff.
We had a discussion in the lab yesterday how safe is Jerusalem. Will Saddam launch missiles here too? (As I said, I have absolutely no doute he will, and after Powell’s presentation I feel they won’t carry a conventional warhead…) We then started to debate what will happen if he’ll throw a missile which will hit our western wall and muslim’s Al Aqsa ? (the two are really close. I bet a missile hit will destroy them both).
The guys here said that whatever happens, the muslim world will blame Israel anyway (like they always do). I came into the conclusion that this may cause a World War 3. I think it should be Israel’s interest to put some Arrow missiles and an Air Defense system near the old city in Jerusalem, just to make sure such a thing will not happen. I know the chances are slim, but with this kind of risk you don’t want to be wrong.
Anyway, we’ve all head enough here, in Israel. Let the Americans start the war and end this shit already. I’m tired and frustrated of waiting. Get the whole thing over with and let us all go on with our life.

Excellent post.
I thought Powell’s presentation was quite brilliant.
There are the usual stupid criticisms being leveled but in the days to come the impact will settle in and the speech will have had its intended effect.
There is no chance Saddam will be in power six months from now, but don’t be impatient.
Uncle Sam marches to his own schedule.
As far as I am concerned, all parties are acting insanely at present. If Germany stays at home - fine by me as well. Incidentally, for all the rhetoric, the German defense minister has been making cautious statements about possible limited participation, technical support for American military action etc. for months. It’s not quite as black-and-white are-you-with-us-or-against-us as Americans try to make out, hell knows what for
By the way, Algeria won
Petrolium is the God of US, so they can do everything to control it, even they can kill people. Stop this fucky war, it’s not a solution.
Petroluem is most definitively NOT the God of the U.S. Everyone knows that is porn! You boob! We also like big-ass cars, loud rock-n-roll, Glock 9mm guns, and freedom! We can’t and won’t kill people to protect oil sources…we do have sources other than Iraq. Do you think we are a one-date wonder? And yes, it is a fucky war….what war isn’t? Mainly, the 300# gorilla (i.e. the U.S.A.) isn’t taking too kindly to having our oil supply, our shipping lanes, our air routes, our economic well-being, etc. dictated by a rag-tag band of religious zealtots. We haven’t had the warm/fuzzies for Christian extremists….why does the Arab world think the Muslim extremists would gain quarter. We will never surrender to your pampered ways!
