Busy busy busy learning for end-term exams.
However, found time to add my dumptga code to the code page (dumps current frame from opengl to a targa file). In addition, I’ve found an old interview I had with PS of DemoJournal. I said some really bizzar things there, really funny… (if you’re not into the demo scene this interview will include issues and words you’re not fimiliar with. But have it a go anyway…)

* Disclaimer: The interview caught me during a demo party, I was slightly drunk and very tierd. None of the views I present there could be used against me ever! Actually, I never said them, either!

                biggest scene board in israel, almo main organizwer of
                mov95,96,97,98 and one of the coorganizers in asm97.
                and a cool guy, really! ask anyone!

        [ civax ] how is what? Oh the thing i’m in? well, its a nice
                demo party. its nice to see how it starts. people here are
                quite cool, and actually i’m not the only foreigner here,
                there are 2 guys from norway and another one for australia
                too, so i guess its an international party  

        [ |ps| ] =) so how did an isrealy get to be at a british demoparty?
               (besides taking the plane excuse)

        [ civax ] well, i was actually traveling ireland to my enjoyment and
                i just took a wrong turn and found myself in leeds!!

               isnt ireland separated from england by sea?

        [ civax ] oh, so thats what it was! I was wondering why is that lake
                so big!

        [ |ps| ] hehehe  any true to the rumour it rains all the time in
               england?

        [ civax ] actually i arrived leeds yesterday evening and didn’t know
                where the partyplace was so i ended up sleeping in the park
                next to some drunk guys and in the morning was almost
                arrested when i was showering in a tap i found in the park.
                the cops saw me nude and started going towards me… I just
                barely ran away…

        [ civax ] well, its quite nice the last 2 days here, the english guys
                say its hot, but its just nice.

        [ |ps| ] what do you do back home? work?

        [ civax ] study and work

        [ |ps| ] seems boring to me.

        [ civax ] i study physics in the hebrew university in jerusalem and
                work for a company called Geo interactive

        [ |ps| ] how is cfx going?

        [ civax ] cfx is actually coders f/x, the bbs, but I basically closed
                it since i need the computer for my studies in jerusalem.
                but I’m working on CFXweb now, so it might come out again!
                how’s demoj is doing?

        [ |ps| ] its going bad!  im sick of doing interviews  

        [ civax ] well, thats cause we’re all megalimaniacs and you’re sick
                of talking about other people. ok, ps, tell us who and what
                you are?

        [ |ps| ] im a little lamer on a dot in portugal. :/
               isnt cfx also the name of a newsletter related to your bbs or
               you have closed it down too?

        [ civax ] cfx newsletter started as the bbs news and only later became
                a full scale newsletter read by 90% (atleast) of the israeli
                scene. I might continue it as part of CFXweb

        [ |ps| ] how is the israeli scene going?

        [ civax ] well, the il scene is quite silent now that cfx isn’t
                working, and most people think its going to die… but I
                hope it won’t.
                I was centering the il scene for 5-6 years, and people
                can’t expect me to do it forever. some new sceners need
                to take over!

        [ |ps| ] how are the demoparties going?

        [ civax ] demoparties are cool!!!! Kombat / immortals is trying to be
                in as many of them as possible before he goes to the army,
                and I’ll still be active in the parties around the world!

        [ |ps| ] another ohad. ohad’s in israel are like john in the usa no?

        [ civax ] no, actually its not that common name, its just that ohad’s
                usually are smart intelligent beautiful guys.
                we rock!!

        [ civax ] well, what about the scene? do you think the scene is
                getting smaller?

        [ |ps| ] humm.. well actually yes, i think there are less and less
               people interested in entering the scene. you agree?  

        [ civax ] I think its alot harder to get new sceners to the scene
                nowadays then it used to, cause demos aren’t ahead of games
                anymore, and they don’t look THAT amaizing thext to all the
                games demos that takes whole cds.

        [ |ps| ] so you think we should start making bigger and better demos?:)

        [ civax ] well, another thing: effects ued to be simple and
                understandable and nowdays is really hard for begginers,
                specially since NO NEW SOURCES get released…
                beginners just have too many technical dificulties to do
                something impressive.

        [ |ps| ] so your a fan of opensource code?  

        [ civax ] open source WITH DOCUMANTATION. or a tutor.
                just 111100 lines of code sais nothing even to the original
                coder…  

        [ |ps| ] well.. what about coders who dont know the logic of what
               they are doing and just rip others code?

        [ civax ] maybe they could do that few years ago, when effects were
                2-3 routines. today its too complicated….  

        [ |ps| ] so when did your passion for demos errupt?  

        [ civax ] passion? you said passion?

        [ |ps| ] yeah =D i did..

        [ civax ] well, I was a cracker and I used to see all these cool
                intros groups made (TRSI/RED SECTOR/THG ect) so soon i
                started doing only intros and stopped cracking..

        [ civax ] i released little intros for bbses with the full source code,
                that how people started to know me

        [ |ps| ] you never had cases where people used your code and putten
               their name on it?

        [ civax ] people try to avoid mentioning any connection to me, so they
                will CERTAINLY not use MY name!

        [ |ps| ] i mean with ripping your code you dumb ass

                to demo parties, quaker do?

                though it used to be for a while sunflower.

        [ |ps| ] what about more recent ones? anything you like?  

        [ civax ] well, you ask alot of question, why not asking whats the
                color of my underware!?
                no. the recent ones weren’t as inspiring as these. nothing
                that makes you remember them specifically - just another
                demo. maybe jumpy by digital murder because of the drummer
                part in the end.
                that was unique - you can have your own xm and it will play
                it with inverse kinematiks.

                musician: well, dna groove / moon hunters - he’s the best
                one I like, but i think lizardking is good, and skaven too.

        [ civax ] dunno - just released the game delta 55 and gone
                artists: well… unreal is a WOW, and well… tmk is good
                and made is a great one too
