| End of semester. Life. |
Well, the semester has ended and the exams period is coming upon us. I feel depressed already. Is it only me or does anyone else always falls asleep when trying to learn boring mathematical prooves? I can be REALLY awake and all, but it doesn’t help. I keep falling asleep (or find my thoughts drifting away).
Anyway, I haven’t talked about some important things lately. When everything is burning around you (exploding would be the correct word) you really caught in the events and only when there is some quiet, you get your real life back. With all the things you really like, friends, work… Maybe that’s why so many europeans tend to be against Israel - they have time to live their lives while still looking abroad to the tiny place called Israel and they don’t understand how it is to live here, with all the fear and all. The current generation in europe doesn’t know how it is to be INSIDE the war. All they know is what they learned at school, saw in movies or TV. Of course, history has a tendency to be the winning side version, which is quite clear and forward. To be in the middle as things take shape makes you understand how small details are left out. The little calculations of when to go to supermarket to get things, and get it all at once to avoid going out twice. The second thoughts about taking a bus to the parents for the weekend. To develop an instinct to avoid crowded places. You don’t get to read about those, do you?
Bush had a speech at the beginning of the week. The speech, on one side, reflected the thing everybody knew all along - Arafat just cloned his old regime of terror he had in Lebanon in the territories. He financed attacks and had lead the palestinians downhill.
Bush also said he support the establishment of a palestinian state. Which is basically a thing I support. He did, however, made very clear the difference between what should be and what is currently happening. Terrorists are to be eradicated from any position in such a state. Bush had clearly voiced what most European governments swept under the carpet - The PA is corrupt, support funds going to finance terror and to educate the young generation for violence and hate.
It should be clear that though palestinians are going to elections, the results should please the rest of the world, it’s not just up to them to decide their leaders this time. 70%-80% of the populations supports the suicide attacks. If any leader that supports these terror attacks will be elected, it should be clear to the palestinians that they can expect no progress in peace and only more war. They would not get any support from the west. Any what-so-ever.

you know, I think your words are full of hartred and hate, and you are not completely wrong after all.
I’m a european 23 y.o. guy currently living in italy. I’ve been in many places, middle east included. I don’t want to post a list of bad emotions here, as it’s too easy to hate. I don’t know what european people think about israeli conflict, and I don’t give a shit about it. I think that both parties abused on each other as terror spread inside the hearts and outside in the streets. The only difference between palestinians and israelis is the deep dark abyss of poverty. May God save both palestinians and israelis, He who doesn’t anyone because of the way they love him.
