Some notes on the Political situation

The worst thing about this whole Mideast mess is that I find myself totally adapted to it. A terror attack here, a terror attack there, he well, maybe I’ll order a pizza for dinner, too tired to cook tonight. Unbearable.

That f*cken suicide terrorist that explode himself in Petah-Tikva yesterday decided the best place to do it will be in a middle of a bunch of babies. Go figure. A grandmother (age 56) and her grandchild (1.5 years female baby) died in the explosion, which left the 2 young parents (married only 2 years ago, the baby was their first child) wounded badly. These are only part of the 50 woundeds/dead people. 4 are in critical condition, one of them is 3 years old girl.

Of course, the Palestinian Authority condemned the event. The not so funny joke is that the organization that did the attack is the Fatah, which as most of you know, is Yassir Arafat’s own organization.

There were more then 40 attempts of terror attacks since “Defense Wall” operation ended, 6 of those actually succeeded, the rest were stopped by Israeli security forces or were prevented thanks to pure luck. One of those “pure luck” attacks is the equivalent to USA’s Sept. 11th - there was an attempt to blow up Pi Glilot, Israel’s biggest(?) fuel and Gas storage facility. If successful, the blast
could have killed and wound thousands of people (see map).

Israeli forces keep entering quickly into palestinian settlements, arresting wanted men and exiting, which already proved to be a positive thing since several terrorists were captured minutes before leaving to perform an attack (were caught with the explosive belt on them and all). Do I like the fact Israeli forced have to do such things? No. To I think it should continue? MOST DEFIANTLY! Preventing even 1 attack is worth all the trouble and risk.

(Keep on reading…)

I’ve been really understanding to the palestinian cause. Like most israeli people, I do think they deserve a state. I admit that as time goes by I’m getting less and less sympathetic for them but that’s cause these morons don’t understand their best chance of getting a state is doing nothing! Every time there is a period of quiet, the public opinion in Israel is getting more and more tolerant and the support for leaving the territories and giving them a state is growing. If there will be quiet for a month I bet there will be protests by israelis demanding to evacuate settlements and leaving the palestinians alone.

But, no, the palestinians doesn’t want just a state. They want (or more correctly Arafat and the terrorists wants) to see it comes out of blood and struggle. Well, blood and struggle they’re sure getting already - a palestinian state? NOT!

My opinion, based on the years living in Israel, is that Arafat isn’t going to give up on any of his dreams seeing israel destroyed. I strongly believe the guy will lie as much as needed to get the world off his back without needing to stop the violent struggle. The only real hope for peace are his more moderated men.

Anyway, to close this post, I don’t see any ending to the current situation, where they do bloody terror attacks on kids and civilians and we keep on closing on cities and arresting terrorists. And from what I understand from world media, things are only going to get worse - Terror attacks are also planned to hit the US and Europe. Seems the “experiments” in Israel proved successful and now we’re going to see suicide bombers all over the world.

Hmpf. I’ll leave you to comment now. Go ahead, share your personal opinion….
