| Coding a GUI for BRE ? |
I was playing with the idea to start coding a GUI for the once-popular door game BRE (Barren Realms Elite). It shouldn’t be TOO much work, I hope. I itentionally want to take an already-designed, working game and build on top of it, and not code a new game from scratch. This will serve as a more serious practice for my opengl programming abilities, making me concentrate on one aspect alone (GL implementation). I don’t have a lot of time, but I do wish to create something useable. Since I had hours of fun when I ran BRE on my BBS (coders f/x bbs, online 1994-1998) I thought about doing a GUI for it.
If you ever coded such a thing, contact me. I’ll take a while to look into the amount of work needed for this project and then decide if I’m taking it upon myself. Feel free to react.
